Louie has intestinal lymphangiectasia, a disease that affects his ability to absorb nutrients, and rabies vaccine-induced ischemic dermatopathy, a skin condition that causes large wounds on his ears and other areas. Originally created to address urgent dietary needs, I hope that this site can now become a useful resource for others whose dogs have these very difficult to diagnose and manage conditions.

Stretching Things
I cooked up some rice and will be using that to see if I can stretch the food I have left as long as possible. He tolerates rice pretty well, and I have some good supplement left over from when I was homecooking for him, so I can add that in to boost the nutrition to some degree. It's not the greatest thing to do for him, nutritionally, but these are rather desperate times for him when it comes to food.
